Leanna Seetahal, LLB, BA
Leanna Seetahal is an Associate Lawyer at Gorham Vandebeek. She is passionate about criminal law and access to justice. She defends a wide range of criminal trials and appeals, ranging from assault and theft, through to serious and complex proceedings involving drug offences, firearms, robbery, and murder.
As a former provincial prosecutor in Alberta as well as a Federal drug prosecutor in Saskatchewan, Leanna brings a diverse perspective to the defence of criminal trials and appeals. Leanna’s practice focuses on the following types of trials and appeals:
- Driving offences (dangerous driving, drinking and driving)
- Theft and fraud
- Drug offences
- Firearms offences
- Sexual offences (sexual assault, sexual interference, child pornography, etc)
Leanna is a current or past member of the Criminal Lawyers Association, the Toronto Lawyers Association, the Peel Lawyers Association, and the Ontario Bar Association, where she served as a Member-at-large on the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Law Committee.
Leanna is also active in her community. She provides pro bono legal services for the 519 Clinic, an organization that assists vulnerable and marginalized individuals, including those facing mental health challenges.
